The square peg in a round hole political party.

I changed from a registered Republican sometime after college. I have been a registered Independent for a really long time. I was so frustrated with the assumptions people make when you say, “I am a Democrat” or “I am a Republican”. The label doesn't seem to allow for the gray areas, so I said I am neither and if you want to know how to feel let’s talk.

I have plenty of Republican leaning ideas when you discuss the topics of law and order, less government, lower taxes, and the freedoms the constitution gave us.

There are times I think I may be more Libertarian since I like the idea of the government just letting me be. Granted to much free range can be harmful, for example when someone else’s free range lifestyle effects others. If you doing you effects others then that is a problem in my opinion. See, prime example of a gray area….nothing is just black and white.

I also feel like some social issues democrats align with should just not be a government talking point. Abortion is a hot emotive topic that draws people in like a moth to a flame. To me it’s a topic that the government should stay out of from both sides. It really is no one’s business.

As for the trans topic that is just lunacy at its finest and that is a Progressive Radical “Democrat” talking point. Any human with half a brain understands children say all kinds of things and have no idea what gender is at a young age, they just like what they like. Leave it to adults to ruin childhood.

Then there is the entire movement to protect women’s sports without the feminist who jump at every topic involving women boggles my mind. How can you say you support women and walk away from them supporting males infiltration of female protected spaces. Pandering is not supporting someone with a mental illness.

I completely have compassion and empathy for an individual who struggles with their identity. What I do not support is the mind bending indoctrination and brainwashing of today’s youth via tiktok,Instagram, and social media by convincing a confused mentally fragile individual that all their issues are blamed on one thing, they are trans and if they transition all will be right in the world. You all have seen the de-transition stories, so you get my point.

I could go on, topic by topic, but I think you understand why I picked the Independent box. I pride myself in my independent mindset and encourage people to find their own voice, and develop their own opinions. I encourage anyone who votes with their emotions to reconsider.
